My third day in Bejing was a relatively relaxed one. I took the bus to the bird's nest and the watercube, the olympic venues in Bejing. I took tours of both the venues which was very nice. After that i went to the Drum tower and the Bell Tower. They were used as time indicators for the city of Bejing in ancient days. steep walks up but cool to see. After that i tried to walk home to my hotel but i got miserably lost. I had to go into a bank and ask someone to talk on the phone to my hotel to give me directions. The person i talked to walked me to the busstop and even paid for the bus for me as i did not have any small notes anymore.
I enjoyed a quiet evening at my hotel talking to Donahue, an irish chap from Dublin. That was good fun. I turned in early because the next day starts very early.
Keep well and in touch! Philip
