Buenos aires and montevideo

Hello everyone,

How are you todaY. I am fine. In 45 minutes i am going to the river plate vs Arsenal (not the UK club) match. I am looking forward to that very much.

In my last message i had just arrived in Buenos Aires. The day after that i booked the city tour which i could take the same day. I had a quick lunch and was driven past all the sights of Buenos Aires. I saw the balcony from which Evita made her famous speech, i saw her grave and the stadium of Boca Juniors and the surrouding neighborhood. Very nice to see.
The next day it was raining quite heavily, so i did not do much more than prepare for my trip to Montevideo on the Buquebus (boatbus). In Montevideo i visited Cees Vreedenburg and his wife Frederike. She is related to me through my Dutch family. They showed me all around Montevideo, took me to a very nice grill restaurant in the centre of town where they burn wood and cook the meat on the hot ashes derived from burning the wood. Very nice result in meat. we also used this process at their home to cook a meal with lambs meat. I took their dog Polly for a walk on the beach. He is a lovely dog and very strong!!. I think i made a friend in him.

Frederike also took me to her Hacienda (i think that is what it is called). It is a farm where she is raising and keeping 6 thoroughbread Arabian horses. They are impressive animals. One of the mares is pregnant so there will be more. The farm is beautifull and a real horse lover just has to see it (tante dok!!!!).

The saturday we went to Punta Del este in the east of Uruguay. This is a famous coast place where the Urugayan and Argentinian elite spend their summers. Very nice to see and a good lunch at the marina. Some nice pictures of large walrusses.


That night i took the Buquebus back home to Ba.
