I am now in Denmark with Paul and Lorie Hammond. They live in Denmark, near Albany. This is a very nice town. I will tell you more about this later.
Monday I left Perth to head south. I went to Busselton first where i walked the longest jetty (place to moore a boat)In the southern Hemesphere. It is almost 2 kilmetres long. The reason for this length is that the water is shallow there.
After that i went to Dunsborough and spent the night there. The next morning I went to Quindlup fauna reserve to see and feed baby Joe's (baby kangaroes. I also saw wombats, hyena's and several other animals there.
After that i went down into Ngigli cave. The cave runs 50 meters into the ground and is quite large. It has a constant temperature of 20 degrees. That was very nice. After the cave i went to see smith's beach at Yallingup and visited a woodfire bakery. Nice bread and fun to watch.
Tuesdaynight was spent in Margereth River. I got a hotel there quite quickley and went for a swim in the local swimmingpool. The local underwater hockey club had their practice night and i asked them if i could play. They allowed me to and i had my first practice. This is a difficult but fun game.
Wednesday I went for a swim in the morning first, then i went to an eagle's resort where they heal wounded birds and have the birds on display for the public. There is also a flying demonstration. I held a black harrier on my arm. That was very nice to do. After that they had 3n black harrier's flying around and they were fed with pieces of chicken.
After that demonstration I went to the Margeret's river mouth to canoe on the river. Unfortunately i was alone in a canoe and there was too much wind for a half paddle caboe with just one person. But it gave me a good 40 minute workout.
By then i had earned a good lunch. i had lunch at Voyager wine resort. That is a wineyard close to Margeret's River. I had a nice lunch there.
After lunch i made my way to Agusta the most south-western point of Australia. I went to the light house that is situated on the most south western point.
After that i drove to Pemberton to spend the night there. Nothing very eventfull happend in Pemberton.
I will tell you about my tree walk tomorrow.
Take care!!
Philip
