Hello everyone,
After a good nigth sleep in Pemberton, a very uneventful village, i proceeded my journey to Denmark to stay with Paul Hammond and his wife Laurie. Before i got there i went to Walpole to visit the vally of the giants and did the tree walk. The tree walk runs through the tops of the trees and reaches a maximum height of 40 meters. The construction is such that most of the bridge is not supported by poles and moves around when you walk on it. Slightly scary but very beautiful scenery.
After the tree walk i also went through a walk in the woods there. They have set out a path where you can walk through the trees. These trees have a gap in the base of the tree. there used to be one that fitted a car below, unfortunately that collapsed.
After this i went to Denmark. Driving up to Paul's house is amazing! on the top of the hill where you turn right into their house kangaroos stand guard. That is an amazing sight. Me driving past did not scare them away. The kangaroos stay around the area constantly.
I arrived at the house and was shown my room by Laurie. After that we had lunch and went to Albany to see a great move about people in their 80's singing rocksongs. Very cool film.
the next few days were filled with canooiing, playing tennis organizing bbq's and visiting a friend of Paul's who owns a vineyard. Very cool to see and do. I also played golf with Micheal, a good friend of Ann Hammond.
Sunday Paul took me swimming at green pool and showed me around Albany. then I took the bus back to Perth.
I had a quiet day in Perth on monday where i overheated Ann's car while she was playing bridge. I missed out on a lunch with Jim Wilson who i met in bali.
monday night we had dinner with Katie and Ann at Jade Garden. That was very nice. Tuesday was a travelday to Melbourne. I will inform you of my adventures in Melbourne In my next post.
